11 people have been taken to hospital after a crash in Somerset.
Four vehicles collided on the A303 between Southfields and South Petherton at about 4:25pm yesterday afternoon.
A Ford Kuga which was travelling in the eastbound lane and a Vauxhaull Astra heading the other way collided on the westbound lane near the Ilminster bypass. Two other vehicles involved had tried to avoid hitting them.
Two women have been seriously hurt. One was taken to Musgrove Park Hospital with suspected broken ribs. Another was taken to Southmead Hospital with serious leg and chest injuries, where she remains in a stable condition.
Avon and Somerset police want to speak to anyone who was in the area at the time of the incident who may be able to help their investigation. They are particularly interested in hearing from anyone who may have seen the Ford Kuga before the crash, or has dash cam footage of the incident. Anyone who can help should phone 101, quoting reference 5219069579.
