Kate Wright reveals Rio Ferdinand's daughter, 7, will play a special role at the wedding

Kate Wright threw a lavish bridal shower where she revealed she'll be making NINE of her close friends bridesmaids when she weds Rio Ferdinand.

Kate Wright has made a shock decision about who will be her maid of honour when she marries Rio Ferdiand, and has opted for his 7-year-old daughter Tia.

Kate announced her engagement last year after Rio proposed with a £400,000 diamond ring during a trip to Abi Dhabi.

On Sunday, former TOWIE star Kate, threw a lavish bridal shower where she revealed she'll be making NINE of her close friends bridesmaids.

Rio, who became a single dad to his three children when his wife Rebecca died from cancer in 2015, later took to Instagram to reveal his daughter Tia would be maid of honour.

He wrote: "What this beautiful woman has brought to all of our lives is hard to put into words. But this picture of excitement on my little girls face(pixilated but u get it) says it all.

"Surprising her by revealing that she is going to be the Maid of Honour (the girl in charge she says) on our wedding day & then to see her filled with crazy joy and excitement I could never have imagined before now.

"These are the moments that melt my heart & pushes my love for you even deeper."

Kate treated her 'favourite girls' to a lavish lunch on Sunday at Lupo Bianco in Orpinton, Kent where the guests were treated to personalised cupcakes, personalised poems, flowers and a doughnut wall.
