As a Special Constable with North Wales Police you would be responsible for carrying out a variety of tasks. Duties could include assisting regulars on patrol, crime prevention work and community liaison projects.

Joining as a Special Constable no longer means simply standing outside pubs and clubs on weekends – it’s much more than that. Special Constables undertake a variety of roles – including working at events such as the Eisteddfod and the Anglesey Show, working with the Community Safety Team, giving out crime prevention advice, tackling crime head-on by participating in warrants and even spending time with colleagues in CID roles.

Special Constables in parts of North Wales also take responsibility for various operations including targeting shoplifters and dealing with community issues.

A wealth of training opportunities are also available – from the initial 12 week training sessions, which are held at weekends, through to ongoing refresher training.
