Princess Anne Comes To Northamptonshire

Princess Anne visits Northamptonshire to open the new Criminal Justice Centre and unveil Fire Memorial.
The Princess Royal, Princess Anne has been paying a visit to Northamptonshire today
She arrived by helicopter to the Brixworth Country Park where she unveiled a memorial to the firefighters.
The memorial was commissioned by the Fire and rescue service during 2012 to commemorate and honour Northamptonshire's firefighters and to provide a quiet place for remembrance and reflection by members of the community who have been affected by fire in some way.
The Princess Royal is a patron of the Firefighters Memorial Trust.
Children from Brixworth Primary School and Walgrave Primary School also attend the ceremony and a child from each school presented the Princess Royal with a posy.
Continuing her tour of the county she went to unveil a plaque at the new Criminal Justice Centre in Northampton.
The centre opened in September last year and its used to detain prisoners before they appear at court.
She was given a tour of the building by Deputy Chief Constable Martin Jelley
He told Heart she was very impressed:
"I think the Princess Royal really enjoyed her visit, she spent a lot of time with the staff which was great, and obviously saw all the new facilities here at Brackmills"
Leaving Northampton the Princess went to open a new Hankook Tyres Warehouse in Daventry.
