Teenager arrested after woman, 70, killed in Paisley New Year's Eve 'hit-and-run'

A teenager has been arrested after a 70-year-old woman was killed in an alleged hit-and-run crash in Renfrewshire on New Year's Eve.
Elizabeth Kennedy, from Paisley, was pronounced dead at the scene after being struck by a car on the town's Barrhead Road at about 7pm on Tuesday.
In an update on Saturday, Police Scotland said an 18-year-old man had been arrested in connection with the collision.
A force spokesperson added: "The man has been released pending further inquiries."
The incident occurred near Barrhead Road's junction with Ladykirk Crescent.

Following Ms Kennedy's death, Detective Inspector Jan MacColl said: "Our thoughts are with Elizabeth's family, friends and everyone affected by this tragic incident.
"Officers will continue to support her family as our inquiries progress."
