A man has died in hospital a month after he was allegedly assaulted at a hotel.

The 64-year-old had been in hospital since the incident on Sunday 26 May at The Station Hotel in Gorseinon.

Police have identified the man as Kelvin Evans from Gorseinon.

His family said they were "devastated" at their "tragic" loss.

They described him as a "wonderful, loving, funny son, brother, uncle, and friend to so many".

"We are trying to come to terms with this whole situation and ask that we are given time to grieve in private as a family," they added in a statement.

South Wales Police said a 39-year-old man from Swansea remained in police custody.
