Man, 81, charged with murder as 65-year-old dies after being 'seriously assaulted'

An 81-year-old man has been charged with the murder of a 65-year-old who died after being "seriously assaulted".
Alan Wotton, aged 81, has also been charged with arson with intent to endanger life.
Police and fire crews were called to a property on Exmouth Road in Gosport, Hampshire, last Friday after reports of a fire.
They also received reports a man in his 60s had been seriously assaulted.
Andrew Avery, 65, later died of his injuries, police said.
Police arrested a man at the scene.
A Hampshire police spokesman said Wotton, of Exmouth Road, has now been charged with murder and arson with intent to endanger life.
He is due to appear at Portsmouth Magistrates' Court on Wednesday.
