Sarah Harding misses out to Mad Men's actress January Jones

Girls Aloud's singer Sarah Harding has spoken about missing out on a coveted role in franchise X-Men.

Harding was asked to audition three times for a role in the new blockbuster installment, X-Men: First Class, produced by Claudia Schiffer's husband, Matthew Vaughn.

The part has now gone to Mad Men's actress January Jones, but the blond singer wasn't upset to hear the news as Jones is a "more established actress", said the 28-year-old.

Harding is the only Girls Aloud member to go into acting. She has already had a role in the Saint Trinian's films.
