Four teenagers have been arrested following a burglary in Milton Keynes with the help of the Force helicopter.
An off-duty Thames Valley Police officer raised the alarm after coming across a burglary at a house in Wetherby Gardens, Bletchley, at about 9.15am yesterday (30/3).
Officers were called to attend and three of the suspects were quickly detained in the surrounding area, but a fourth suspect was still outstanding.
The Force helicopter was deployed from RAF Benson at 10am and arrived at the scene 15 minutes later. It was tasked to search an area close to where the fourth suspect was last seen, specifically the St Georges Road and St Patricks Way area.
The helicopter crew used search equipment to trace a heat source to behind a garden shed along St Georges Road and officers on the ground were directed to the suspect’s location.
Some of the items taken in the burglary, including jewellery, were found discarded in the local area.
Two 17-year-old boys and two 16-year-old boys from Milton Keynes have been arrested on suspicion of burglary. They have all been released on bail until 5 May.
