A video of a 5 month old baby being pushed into a swimming pool has gone viral, and people aren't quite sure how they feel about it.
Footage of a mother pushing her young baby headfirst in to a swimming pool has gone viral.
The video, filmed by Utah Swim Academy, is designed to encourage parents to allow their youngsters to 'fall into water' in order for them to develop a survival instinct in an 'uncontrollable situation'.
However, the footage is undeniably uncomfortable to watch, and has been condemned by people worried a child could drown.
5 months old and saving himself. It is never easy to watch a baby fall in a pool, but it is so worth it to have the peace of mind that comes when you know your baby will know what to do if they fall in the water in an uncontrollable situation.

I don't care what anyone says. I would rather put my baby through a bit of unpleasant swim lessons than find them face down in a pool not moving. Accidents happen no matter how well you prepare.

yup i’d do it for my child because babies are known to wander and personally if it ever happens i’d rather find my child face up alive and floating then face down and dead

This is completely correct and right. There’s no such thing as too early to start to learn. The human brain and the capabilities of a human will surpass any obstacle, you just have to train the body and the mind adequately.

Despite the baby being closely monitored by an adult, not everyone is on board with the notion and slammed it as cruel and unnecessary.
Why is mother smiling? Painful to watch. The baby was crying & afraid BEFORE his mother let go & dropped him! It would've been different had the mother gently released the child into the water. Dropping him in was traumatic and may cause this child to have trust issues for life.

Y’all can do this to your child but I will not put mine through this.
