B-Viz And Stay Alive!

Make sure your kids stay bright and stay alive this autumn and winter, whether they're walking or cycling to school or off to a Fireworks party!

Last year, 374 children aged 5-16 years old were either killed or injured on Kent roads, now 'B-Viz' is here to brighten up young road users at times such as Bonfire Night.

'B-Viz' is a campaign by Kent County Council and Medway Council to raise the awareness among 5-16 year olds of the benefits of making yourself visible to drivers.

b-vizThe campaign will be bringing an impressive combination of dance/urban music and road safety messages to schools all over Kent and Medway, highlighting that by staying bright, you may stay alive.

Schools across the area will be visited by the  'B-Viz' team providing free interactive and fun assemblies, some schools will also be joined by local dancer Alix Godden, of AMG Freedom Dance.

The key messages of the campaign are:

  •  Wearing a reflector at night makes you visible in headlights at up to 150 metres sooner, giving  drivers up to 5 times more distance to notice you.
  •  Fluorescent materials make you up to 15 times more visible during the day.
