Hammer attack in Southend

Detectives say a hammer attack in Southend yesterday was an isolated incident.
An 18 year old was approached by six men - one of which had a hammer - on Albert Road in the early hours of the morning.
The group tried to start a fight with the victim and then hit him with the tool, leaving him with a suspected broken hand and other minor injuries.
