A Luton nursery teacher has been told he is facing a lengthy jail sentence after being found guilty of sexually assaulting a three year old girl who was in his class.
The 30 year old assaulted the girl after she had taken a tumble while playing at the nursery in Luton.
Later that day, the child told her mother what he had done and the police were contacted.
As a result, officers seized his computer which was forensically examined and indecent images of young children were discovered.
At Luton Crown Court, the teacher from Bedfordshire, who had worked at the school for a number of years, was found guilty by a jury of sexually assaulting a child under the age of 13.
He had earlier pleaded guilty to a charge of downloading child sex abuse images.
Judge David Farrell QC remanded him in custody for the preparation of a pre-sentence report.
He will be sentenced in October and the judge told him a prison sentence is inevitable.
The offence took place in January 2012 in a nappy changing area at the nursery.
