The East of England Ambulance Service have told Heart they received less calls this New Years Eve than they did last year.
The evening of New Years Eve/ New Years Day is notoriously one of the busiest nights of the year for paramedics with people drinking heavily and being sick, falling over and fighting.
The night was still exceptionally busy with more than 2000 calls being made in the whole of the East of England.

Ross Brand from the ambulance service says:
"I'm quite pleased to say that it sounds as if the messages we're putting out asking people to be drink-wise and look after themselves seem to be getting through and people are taking responsibility for themselves as best as they can."
