Biggleswade: Body Found After Search Of Ivel

Police in Biggleswade say after a search and rescue mission for a missing boy, the body of a 15 year-old male has been found.

Police were called at around 7.45 yesterday evening (Friday 23rd August) to the banks of the River Ivel to the west of the town centre after reports the boy had gone missing after swimming in the water.

Residents have reported a large police presence and a search by helicopter.

This morning (Saturday 24th August), Bedfordshire Police have told Heart search teams have found the body of a 15 year-old boy near Mill Lane; his family are being helped by Police Liaison officers.

The boy's identity won't be released until further tests are carried out by HM Coroner.
