Sooty to turn on Christmas lights

Sooty from The Sooty show will be turning on the lights in Weston Super-Mare this Thursday. (29th)

The annual Weston-super-Mare Christmas lights switch on, has been organised by Weston Town Council. 

It takes place in the Town Square on Thursday, officially launching late-night shopping in the town. 

The stars of the longest-running children's television programme in the UK, CITVs The Sooty Show, will be turning on the Christmas lights, with Town Mayor Cllr David Hitchins and a young representative from one of the Mayor's three chosen charities - Weston-super-Mare Disability Information & Advice Line (DIAL). 

Alongside the popular show's presenter, Richard Cadell, the mischievous Sooty will take centre-stage in the town armed with his trusty water pistol!

It starts at 6pm.
