Work started back in 2008 to develop ten bus corridors, known as the Greater Bristol Bus Network. These corridors have enhanced bus priority measures including bus lanes, new traffic signals which change green when the bus approaches, improved bus shelters and real time information which tells you when the bus is due.
The scheme is funded by the Department for Transport, local developers, First bus, and the four local authorities. The work is being done by the four local authorities, Bath & North East Somerset, Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire Councils and First.
